Fishing
Fishing on the Indian Ocean is exhilarating and good catches are to be had ranging from sailfish, marlin, tuna and sharks. The sailfish run from October to February; the tuna in September; the Black Marlin between July and September and the striped marlin from December to March.

Lake Victoria is famous for its fishing. There is abundance of tilapia a sweet tasting local favorite caught along the lakeshores. The real draw here is the Nile Perch the world's largest freshwater fish. The Perch reaches considerable proportions and is a formidable fighting opponent. The lakes current record is a 90 kg trophy. Fishing trips on the lake in traditional canoes powered by an outboard engine or modern speedboats can be arranged.
Ballooning
View the magnificence of Kenya as you float effortlessly over herds of wildlife in the Masai Mara in a colorful hot air balloon. There is definitely no better way to see the game and the savannah plains without the intrusion of vehicles and loads of other people all trying to do the same thing.

Balloon flights start shortly after dawn, when the air is cool and calm and the animals are at their most active. The balloon blow-up is part of the show, and once the balloon rises, passengers have the opportunity to watch the sunrise high above the plains. The flight is magically silent, save for the murmur of the burner.

The pilot steers the balloon over canopies of trees and woodland, dropping down to get closer to the game on the plains. After the landing enjoy a champagne breakfast under the arms of an Acacia tree to celebrate your flight, and a flight certificate is issued on completion of the balloon safari.
Bird Watching
For devoted birdwatchers, the west is one of Kenya's most favored regions. A Visit to Mbasa Islands for bird and reptile viewing is a must. These sister islands are about an hour's boat ride from the Village. In the confines of Lake Victoria Safari Village more than 150 different species of birds have been recorded, making the area a heaven for birders. E-mail us for a copy of our Bird's Checklist. Visit the homepage of Kenya Birds to see photographs of some of the magnificent birds resident in the country.
Elephant Feeding
Directly next to the Nairobi National Park is a nonprofit conservation trust which was established in 1977, shortly after the death of David Sheldrick. He and his wife, Daphne, were the first to use techniques of raising orphaned black rhinos and elephants, whose parents were killed due to poaching, in order to reintroduce them back into the wild.

Of these animals, the elephants seem to get the most attention. It is for this reason that many refer to this wildlife trust as simply the Elephant Orphanage. For a donation of 300 Kenyan shillings patrons can come to view baby elephants being fed, playing soccer, and even receiving a mud bath from 11AM to Noon.

It’s inspiring to see the baby elephants trotting along with floppy trunks and ears. One is reminded of watching a playground full of kids, tearing around, chasing each other, arguing, even standing in a corner and sulking! When the calves reach two years old they no longer need milk and are released into Tsavo National Park.
Diving
There are several diving opportunities along Kenya’s coast in any of the country’s seven Marine National Parks. Kenya’s entire 900 km coastline has been largely protected from over-fishing and damage due strict to Marine Park laws. Below the surface is an abundance of hard and soft corals sustaining a diverse and colourful population of marine life.

A range of dive sites affords divers a choice of diving activities ranging from drift reef diving, to deep dives and spectacular night dives. Wreck dives can be done off the coast of Mombasa where the wreck of the Globe Star, a grain carrying cargo ship that hit a sand bank in the early 1970s.

The best time to dive is from October to November before the short rains and again from February to March before the long rains when visibility is at its best. Water temperatures vary between a comfortable 25 and 29°C degrees and visibility ranges from 20 to 40 metres.
Boating
The calm waters of Lake Victoria are a natural wonder, packed with glistening shoals of tropical cichlid fish and massive Nile Perch. The inviting shores and islands are alive with birds, monkeys; hippo and crocodile. Above the air is filled with the haunting cry of the stately Fish Eagle. Choose from a number of interesting places to visit such as bird islands and fishing villages to name but a few. To gain a better understanding of the region visit local fishing villages and have a chat with the people on the beach or share a drink in the village bar.
Safari
The traditional African safari was born in Kenya and now visitors can experience the legend on a Kenya safari of a lifetime. The splendor and diversity of the wildlife and landscape is unsurpassed. Kenya offers a wide range of attractions, from vast plains teeming with game to cultural experiences with the Masai and Samburu people, making it one of Africa's leading safari destinations.

The lakeside Ruma National Park is a refuge for two very rare species of antelope, the large Roan and the tiny Oribi. The Park is about 1 ½ hours drive away. The Gembe Hills, in the vicinity of Safari village, is ideal hill walking country, gently rising to a peak of 3957 m. There are extensive series of tracks and paths that wind through a varied landscape of semi-arid scrub, farmland and open fields.
Elsamere
One of Kenya’s more educational activities is a visit to the country’s most historic house. On the banks of striking Lake Naivasha lies the previous home of the conservationists George and Joy Adamson. Built amongst giant yellow acacia trees, it is resident to a troop of inquisitive black and white colobus monkeys and fish eagles.

Elsamere, named after the best known lioness in the world, is now a museum and conservation centre dedicated to one of the most famous wildlife stories ever told. The story of the Adamson's' relationship with Elsa the lioness was immortalized in Joy’s 1959 book “Born Free” and the subsequent movie.

Today their house is a museum and houses a collection of memorabilia from the Born Free story. Everything has been left as it was when they lived there; Joy’s typewriter still sits on her desk. The Elsamere experience begins with a video about Joy and George’s life, including an interview with Joy, followed by a look around the house and a sumptuous cream tea on the lawn overlooking Lake Naivasha.
Kenyan Beaches
In addition to the Kenyan safaris, the Kenyan beaches are likely the top Kenyan attractions. When it’s chilly up in the northern hemisphere, it’s definitely warm along the Kenyan coast. Due to the fact that it is always warm along the Kenyan coast and that rich blue water and soft white awaits you make for a great beach destination.

The Kenyan beach resorts are without doubt some of the best accommodations in the country. Coral reefs found offshore makes the experience all the more amazing. Mombasa, Lamu, and Malindi are the top beach destinations in Kenya frequented by many visitors.
